The Jemez Mountain Trail was declared a National Scenic and Historic
Byway in 1998 in recognition of its fantastic natural and cultural
resources. Only an hour from Albuquerque, the Trail is one of New
Mexico's most spectacular scenic drives. Over 140 miles of beauty
and magic abound with natural geological formations, hot springs,
hiking, skiing, biking trails, fishing streams, campgrounds, Bandelier
National Monument and Jemez State Monument. Charming restaurants,
Inns, B&B's, gift shops, art galleries, a bath house and winery
are scattered along the Trail. Come enjoy the wonders of the Jemez
