Antelope Canyon & Marble
Canyon
The
day begins with a ride up through Oak Creek Canyon and then out
across the western edge of the Painted Desert to Page and Antelope
Canyon. Long revered by the Navaho, Antelope Canyon provided cover
for the Navaho hiding from the U.S. Army during the 1863 war. The
area still remains part of their ranch. We will hike the four hundred
yard canyon accompanied with one of the Delvin Etsitie's relatives.
The Etsitie Navaho family has been living in Antelope Canyon for
centuries. Next, we will head down to Marble Canyon
where
we will have lunch at Vermillion Cliffs and take a short hike at
Lee's Ferry. Long the only place to cross the Colorado River as
it becomes Grand Canyon, we will visit the historic Lonely Dell
Ranch before stopping to gaze down into the inner gorge of the River
on our way home. The tour begins at 6:30 am and includes the Antelope
Canyon fees and lunch. We plan to return to Sedona in time for dinner.

Anasazi people lived centuries ago. This is a four hour tour that
